Fisher Price Toys Recalled

Last week, a number of Fisher Price Toys were recalled because of excessive amounts of lead. The recall included the popular Big Bird, Elmo, Dora and Diego characters. This recall comes on the heals of a number of other scares concerning Chinese-made toys.

Although no poisoning incidents were reported, this recall highlights the importance of choosing well-made, non-toxic toys. Before you buy, try to find out where the toy is made, and what materials were used to make it. This is particularly important for those toys that are likely to be sucked or chewed on. Although the risk of lead poisoning was extremely low in this recent recall, it just isn't work the risk.
